Minisforum Slim Series Review

The UM680 Slim (Ryzen 7 6800H) remains a budget standout at $335, with its Radeon 680M delivering 35fps in GTA V (1080p High). However, the UM870 Slim (Ryzen 7 8745H) justifies its $529 price with RDNA3’s 780M, hitting 55fps in Cyberpunk 2077 (1080p Low, FSR 3)β€”20% faster than the 680M. The UM760 Slim (Ryzen 5 7640HS) sits awkwardly at $319, as the 760M GPU trails both.

All three share the same 0.5L chassis and dual M.2 slots, but the UM870’s DDR5-5600 RAM (vs. DDR5-4800 on UM680) boosts bandwidth by 17%. The UM760’s 6-core CPU struggles in multi-threaded tasks (12,500 in Cinebench R23 vs. UM870’s 18,200). Cooling is adequate but noisy under load (~42dB), with the UM870 hitting 88Β°C in sustained workloads.

For budget buyers, the UM680 offers the best value, while the UM870 is ideal for light gaming. The UM760 is hard to recommend unless discounted below $300. Alternatives like the Beelink SER6 Pro (7735HS, $349) undercut the UM760 with better performance.
